Pepsi didnât just parody Cokeâs campaignâthey fixed what Coke missed:
Over the past few weeks (maybe even months), Coke has revived its iconic âShare a Coke withâŠâ campaign.
The idea is simple: buy a Coke with someoneâs name on the bottle and share itâlike a carbonated version of a souvenir shop.
But this time, Pepsi was ready.
The problem with Cokeâs approach? Not everyone can find their name. (I never canâshoutout to all the name-missers out there đ)
So Pepsi seized the moment with a parody: âShare a Pepsi withâŠâ
Except instead of names, they printed classic food pairings â burgers, wings, and pizza. And they added a jab of copy: Food deserves Pepsi.
Itâs a smart play.
Where Coke banks on personalization, Pepsi wins on universality. Not everyoneâs name is David or Sarah or Riley â but everyone eats.
And when they do, Pepsiâs making the case that their drink belongs at the table.
